Vicarage Road, is a duel-extension to a semi-detached Georgian property in Maidenhead. The brief set by the client was to extend the property, providing a flexible space to entertain guests, whilst ensuring that the extension complimented the existing proportions of the home.
At ground floor level, thresholds between spaces are defined with glazed roof lights overhead, to create zoning in the open-plan layout without partitions. The kitchen is paired-back using a minimal palette of natural and sustainable materials. A raised external terrace with level threshold extends the entertaining space into the garden creating a connection with the outside.
An additional floor was added to the property to accommodate a master bedroom and en-suite, providing essential space for the client’s growing family.
Massing Perspective
The rear elevation has been refined with carefully considered detailing, enhancing the simplicity of the design. A standing-seam zinc dormer is added to the roof scape blending with the existing natural slate tiles.
